Exploring the local area

SeaSintra boasts an ideal location for exploring some of Portugal’s true gems, as well as escaping the demands of busy life. Below are just a few of the places we’d recommend visiting during your stay

Situated in the foothills of the Sintra mountains, the charming, pastel-colored town of Sintra is just a 15-minute drive from both villas. Visit the park and National Palace of Pena – a glorious fairytale-like palace set against a backdrop of lush forests and mountainous terrain – one of many of the town’s magical cultural sites that are a must-see.

Estoril Coast

If you’d like to combine some city sauntering with sea air, head west of Lisbon for the Estoril coast. A line of beautiful coastline that stretches from the Tagus river estuary out into the Atlantic ocean. Cascais is particularly charming and perfect for soaking up the sun, enjoying some sea food and settling into the relaxed Portuguese pace.
